With the launch of SUNED’s global marketing campaign, networking events, workshops, conferences, and the AGM, there is plenty happening in the education industry on the Sunshine Coast!

WORLD’S BEST STUDY ADVENTURE

Worlds Best Study AdventureThe World’s Best Study Adventure was launched in spectacular style at Twin Waters Resort with more than 50 people attending representing Sunshine Coast Council, Sunshine Coast Destination Limited, Central Queensland University and from across a broad section of tourism operators, the aviation industry, businesses, accommodation providers and education agents and SUNED members

Since the launch, the World’s Best Study Adventure has captured a worldwide market. The YouTube site has received more than 20,000 hits in its first weeks with more then 10,000 fans signing up, and students from around the world have uploaded videos and entered this exciting competition.

The World’s Best Study Adventure is proving to be an effective strategy which is showcasing the Sunshine Coast as an education destination to the world. World’s Best Study Adventure launch.

STUDY TOUR BROCHURE

Tourism Queensland has produced a fantastic Study Tour Brochure available to be used as an effective marketing tool for all Education providers and tourism operators. The brochure features 79 Queensland tourism products, from educational centres through to helicopter schools, cultural tours and tourist attractions which offer rich cultural heritage experiences.

The e-brochure is available on Tourism Queensland’s 16 international websites to inspire principals, teachers and parents that Queensland is the destination of choice for study tours, with products available to suit all ages. The new Study Tour brochure is now available in an e-brochure format on www.studytoursqueensland.com

ACPET CONFERENCE


You are invited to attend the forthcoming ACPET 2011 National Conference and the 2nd Annual Asia-Pacific International Education Forum in Brisbane, Queensland, from 24 – 26 August. The venue for the conference is the Sofitel Hotel in the heart of Brisbane.

INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION ASSOCIATION CONFERENCE


The ISANA, International Education Association, Annual Conference will be held in Hobart on 30th November- 2nd December. The conference this year will explore innovations in how we engage with diverse groups of students constructively, including the social web, mobile apps, virtual communities, innovations in support programs, new ways of engaging international students and new trends in student information seeking behaviour. CHINA READY WORKSHOP


SUNED members recently participated in a three-day workshop focussing on targeting the visitor market from China. The workshop was organised by Sunshine Coast Destinations Limited, funded by the Federal Government and held at the Hyatt Regency Resort Coolum. More than 60 leading business people attended the workshop representing the tourism and education industry, accomodation providers, tourism operators, the Sister City Association and Sunshine Coast Regional Council.

The workshop provided extensive information about the China market, Chinese culture and Chinese business etiquette. A number of marketing strategies were examined and helpful tools presented to equip local providers to be ready to tackle such a dynamic and potential visitor market to the region.

SUNED ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
The SUNED Inc. AGM was held on 21 July in Kawana. A report from the President was presented which confirmed that SUNED has had a successful and busy year with the launch of the World’s Best Study Adventure, frequent networking events, new members and meetings. The Treasurer presented the financial report confirming that SUNED is in a good financial position.

Central Queensland University Marketing Officer, Samara Lovekin, was the guest speaker. Samara spoke about the history and the vision that CQU has for the region. CQU is thrilled to be a member and active part of SUNED’s marketing campaign.

SUNED Executive nominations were presented and accepted.
